HYVE Ether OS makes an AI agent the shell — running entirely on hardware you own
Vibe Software Solutions, out of Wilson, North Carolina, has shipped HYVE Ether OS into early access — a ground-up operating system where a self-improving agent named Omega is the shell itself, not an app, with the full intelligence stack running on hardware the owner controls: no mandatory cloud, no telemetry, no censorship. The pitch comes with substance: a 494-capability desktop, post-quantum encryption (ML-KEM-768), roughly 1,867 automated tests, and GPT-4-class 70B open models running locally on commodity hardware. For privacy-first professionals and sovereignty-minded builders who would rather own their agent than rent it from a cloud giant that trains on every query, it is a categorically different bet.
